About Us

Community Lettings UK is a community-focused company that offers a fully managed letting provision for schools. We take full responsibility for every aspect of community lettings at your school and oversee the entire process from start to finish. We have a dedicated team of people who are passionate about physical activity and supporting schools to maximise their facilities by opening them up to the local community.

Many schools have excellent facilities that are underutilised by the community and we know with our reputation we can assist schools to make better use of their facilities to the benefit of them and the local community.

We’re passionate about getting people active more often and part of this solution is having safe spaces where young people and adults can participate in activities. Our business model allows us to transform your facilities after school hours into thriving community assets.

The following three case studies give examples of some of the work Community Lettings UK has been involved with and its unique approach to school lettings:

Staff Restructures to Improve the School Day

One of partner schools in Warwickshire found it difficult to manage their own lettings programme based on local demand, with the School Business Manager struggling to take bookings, manage the whole process and the school site team finding it difficult to both cover lettings and complete their regular maintenance jobs during the school day. Once Community Lettings UK began letting the school’s facilities, the income had doubled vs. previous years. They restructured the set-up of their site team so that two caretakers were in school 7am-4pm every day to improve how the school ran during the day and Community Lettings UK took on the responsibility to manage school events, lettings and locking up the school facilities at the end of the day.

Disability Sport Development

Community Lettings UK was approached by a local disability officer who had been informed by a local disability basketball group that they had been evicted from Warwickshire College in Henley-in-Arden due to the purchase of the facilities by Wasps Rugby Football Club. Wasps Rugby informed clients at the time of the purchase that external lettings would not be able to continue due to the academy schedule. Community Lettings UK worked alongside the officer to relocate the basketball team, who train 3 times a week and ensure the required markings were within the Sports Hall. The club has gone from strength and strength, expanding to include a youth team, competing in national competitions, whilst enhancing the reputation of the partner school.

Further Funding

Community Lettings UK have in-depth experience of gaining external funding to help support the schools we work with and local communities. Examples of funding we have acquired ranges from £2,000 from Birmingham Football Association to replace and install new football goals to £190,000 funding received to redevelop existing Astro-turf pitches. Community Lettings UK supported the school in terms of bringing together key partners and forming a steering group, researching external funding options and creating a community-use business plan.

Customer Testimonial

"When hearing about Community Lettings UK, my first thought was ‘What’s the catch’? It all sounded too good to be true! But having worked with them since the start of the academic year, it really is the simplest arrangement and setup we have in place. They are a great team, who you can tell really pride themselves on offering the best service to both the schools, and the people in the community hiring the facilities. They complete a thorough recce of the site, are so proactive with their marketing and client base, and will take over all enquiries, so the level of work required from the school is absolutely minimal.”

Sam Celine, School Business Manager – Lillington Primary School
